Endoscopy Center
Carlisle Endoscopy Center (CEC) was established in 2001. CEC is a freestanding outpatient endoscopy center adjacent to our practice where our Board-Certified Gastroenterologists perform advanced endoscopic procedures. See a list of some of the procedures performed at our endoscopy center.
Featuring state-of-the-art high-definition endoscopy equipment and scope-reprocessing equipment, CEC is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and Medicare and accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF). These certifications reflect the excellence and high standards of care achieved by both our facility and our staff.
CEC has also received the American Society for Gastroenterology (ASGE) Endoscopic Unit Recognition Certification. Recipients of this certification have demonstrated excellence in quality assurance, endoscopic reprocessing, physician credentialing, and infection control.
Exceeding National Benchmarks
The physicians and staff of the Carlisle Endoscopy Center are proud to provide our community with the most competent and safest medical care available. We strive to provide high quality endoscopy services, adhering to several national benchmarks related to quality of colonoscopy.
Adenoma detection rate (ADR) is one of the quality indicators. An adenoma is a type of polyp that could potentially become cancerous. For a screening colonoscopy, ADR represents the number of patients in whom a precancerous polyp was identified and removed.
The national benchmark states that physicians providing a high-quality colonoscopy should have an adenoma detection rate of greater than 30% in males and greater than 20% in females. The Gastroenterologists at Carlisle Endoscopy Center consistently exceed this and other national benchmarks.
